Organic Swiss Chard![]() Swiss Chard is best sown directly in the Spring to early Summer while soil warmed but not hot. Sow seeds 0.5 inches deep in rows 16-22 inches apart. Sow closely together later thin 5-7 inches apart. Use the thinned out plants as baby greens. Swiss Chard has good tolerance to hot weather, but the best results are grown in cool to moderate temperatures. Swiss Chard is great at all stages of growth, clipped young for fresh greens/salads or mature for leaves cooked like spinach.
