Cabbage, Savoy

Cabbage can be grown as an early Spring or late Fall crop all timed to grow and harvest with cool weather. For early crops start indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting outside after heavy frosts. For late crops start in mid to late May to be transplanted into place 5-6 weeks later all timing the late crops to be harvested before frost. Plant seed 0.3 inches deep in loose soil to avoid crusting over. Transplant in place 12 to 18 inches apart in rows 24 inches wide.
