Description:

Kohlrabi Vienna Violet heirloom vegetable from the mid 1800’s. Quick growing member of the cabbage family produces beautiful outer purple flesh with similar tender white interior, enlarged stem with short tops and few leaves. Slow to bolt and early producing, best harvested when the stem reaches 5-7 cm (2-3″) in diameter. For best growth, irrigation is essential through dry periods. Flesh is white with nutty flavour when eaten raw and mild taste when cooked.
