Description:

Older traditional Pugliese vegetable heirloom from the early 1700’s. Usually mistaken for an Onion, but its a rare bulb of wild hyacinth plant (Muscari Comosum). It has a slight bitter taste with firm nutty tantalizing texture. Great in salads, soups, and traditionally great on their own in an extra virgin olive oil.

Sowing Instructions :

Plant seeds 12-16 inches deep from May-July. Line the dug out area with some plastic sheath or lining. Space seeds 2-3 inches apart in rows 8-12 inches wide. Return the 12-16 inches of soil back onto the seeded area and do not disturb for 2 years. Harvest from July-September the following seasons once shoots begin to grow.
