Artichoke/Carciofo di Romagna


This variety prefers a seasonal climate with mild winters and hot dry summers. Plants are hardy enough to be able to withstand cold temperatures to just below freezing. The characteristics of the Purple Romaine artichoke include very large flower buds that have fleshy round green coloured spineless petals with purple highlights. Seeds/package: 50-60 Untreated

Sowing instructions: Plant seeds 0.5 inches deep indoors from February-March or directly outdoors in May. Transplant seedlings from May-June spacing them 36 inches apart and spacing rows 36 inches apart. Harvest from Sept-October
